Background: It is the third round of “the most influential embedded system editor’s choice award China”, which is sponsored by the magazine “electronic engineering product world” since 2004. Initiated by the Edition Department of the Magazine, the purpose of this activity is to exhibit the innovation of product and technology of excellent enterprises at home and abroad and to introduce the more comprehensive, much better and more excellent products and resolution to the electronic engineering world in China.
This activity is held in September and October every year and the products must be revealed in the last year. The range covers MCU, DSP, soft/hard core, various embedded operation system, developmental tools and so on. A large variety of main products and technology from North America, Europe, and Japan, Korea, Mainland of China, Taiwan district of China is in exposure to the electronic world of China. The activity reveals also the present status of embedded industry of China, which is integrated into the world gradually.
Introduction of the Activity
1. Types of Awards
The “influential embedded system editor’s award China” sets three types of awards each round. They are as follows:
Embedded System Journalist’s Award Influential China.
This award reveals once more to the engineers of the embedded world the memorabilia of the past year in the world of embedded industry. No matter where the memorabilia took place, it must have profound influence to the embedded industry of China.
Award of New Technology of Embedded System Influential China
The candidate product must be of creativity and have potential markets in China. It must meet one or more prerequisites of the following:
(1) Capability index must be top in the industry (please explain concretely its capability);
(2) It opens a new field of application;
(3) It has a pioneer promotion in the industry;
(4) Its cost must be competitive.
Award of New Star of embedded System China
To encourage the development of Chinese local manufacturers and traders, spark plugs independent embedded chips or developmental tools and operation system, and to achieve in the market, the Magazine specially sets the “Award of New Star of Embedded System”.
2. Evaluation
The results of “Evaluation of Embedded System Influential China” have been revealed the first time in the website (www. eepw.com.cn) in 2006. It’s open for voting by the public to attract more engineers and fans of electronic products to involve in. And the staff of the Magazine, the editorial committee, the experts and professors in the industry and the entrepreneurs will come together to discuss and analyze each candidate product according to the voting results, and make a final decision.
3. Result Reveal and Award Issue
The evaluation results will be issued in the “Electronic Engineering Product World” and its website with detailed introduction. And the rewarded companies will be informed at the first hand.
After each round of evaluation, the Magazine will hold ceremonious ceremonies by chance of seminars of embedded industry in September and October in cities around China. And experts, professors, entrepreneurs and engineers with great reputation will attend the ceremonies.
